mom bought a new black peplum top which didnt fit her and IT IS NOW MINE AND I AM SO EXCITED. i've always wanted to try peplum but somehow i never got around to it. the top is river island and fits me like a glove (clueless asos shopper that my mother is) but damnnnnn is peplum hard to style as http://www.guardian.co.uk/fashion/2012/mar/20/how-to-wear-a-peplum very aptly puts it.
i have a penchant for beautiful dramatic clothes but it's tragic how they can be so difficult to re-wear (this applies even if my idea of beautiful can be contestable) such as my leotard(s), bat wing tulle top and tutu skirts (what was i thinking.....). i love thinking of a general vibe or look that i want to channel and working with my wardrobe to match it. on the other hand i love the basics and classics in my wardrobe as well that i want to keep and wear forever..... they just go with everything. my boots and bkk school bag have been wonderful, the leather of the bag is not only gorgeous but it is so sturdy that i have absolutely no worries carrying my fujitsu baby in it (even if i did just accidentally slam my bag and laptop on a chair at kith cafe the other day with the bm kids).
and on a similarly if not more melancholic note, R.I.P black leather zara booties )))))): multi-chinned sad face. zouk literally took a chunk out of you. you were my staple that dramatized but still went well with all my clothes and i will always love you for that. and now im on the search for a new pair of somewhat unconventional black shoes that i can once again wear to (its) death because ballet flats to me are just rather un-titillating.
also tragic: my hair is supposed to be dark purple but it looks more brown. BROWN. some say red or amber which makes me a bit happier and other funny and kind friends humor me and say "a bit la....."
im sorry if you read through all this but i did warn you.
